Quiet Hill

Inspired by Southern California landscape painters like William Wendt, Maurice Braun,
and Edgar Payne, this painting shows the rich and varied terrain of Coyote Hills.

This sunny landscape captures the afternoon
light as it illuminates a large swath of golden park land. It was a challenge to paint the
shaded birch tree whose white bark held minimal contrast with the yellow field behind it. Framed in a beautiful gold colored frame.

A morning view of the hills surrounding the I - 5 freeway as it heads north from Los Angelos. A combination of warm and cool colors models the ridges and gullies of this rugged hillside.
